Every situation is a little different. Multitrack recording a full 5 piece band will require more time than recording just vocals or voice-over. Once we’ve discussed the project, we can come up with a timeline together.

We have all the microphones necessary to capture any source thrown our way. We have 3 full house drum set options (2 acoustic and 1 electronic) and a variety of snare drums to fit different sounds or styles of music. Whether you’re opting to use one of the house kits or not, we should discuss ahead of time to avoid confusion. Drummers should always bring their high quality cymbals, kick drum pedal, and sticks.
We’ll never ask you to play an instrument you’re uncomfortable with, but besides drums, we have a handful of acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitars, and amps which we may want to employ to add a different dimension to the sound.

First and foremost, please show up on time, prepared, and sober. This means you know the material inside and out, your instruments are in full working order with fresh guitar strings or drum heads, and you have some idea of the key(s) and tempo(s) of the material.
Members of a band that are non-essential for the recording activities of that day need not be present on the Studio premises. A lead song-writer or band leader will be selected from the group to guide the recording process. Only the leader and the actively recording musician(s) are to be on the studio premises.
And just…please don’t bring your buddies or girlfriends…

Pre-production is all of the work put into the song before the final recording takes are done. It’s always best if you are able to supply me with a recording of the song(iPhone quality is fine) so I’m more familiar with the material. If someone from Shellshock Multimedia is also acting as producer on the track, this step is imperative to save time, so ideas and concepts can be discussed beforehand.

All sessions will be transferred onto a flash drive for the artist including the fully mixed versions of songs as well as the individual tracks in case a new mix or edit needs to be done, such as for a music video or for radio play.
